Commentary

May 04, 2015

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when the wicked rule, the people groan. Hello, this is Tony Perkins with the Family Research Council in Washington. With yet another American city smoldering not from an attack by foreign jihadists, but rather domestic riots, many citizens are asking the question, is our nation coming apart at the seams? I think the answer to that question is rather obvious - yes. What is not so obvious is the cause. Are these violent displays of civil unrest the result of insufficient government assistance and or programs as some political leader have already suggested? Is it simply the product of frustration brought on by political or cultural marginalization? Without question there is some of the latter. But could these tragic events be symptoms of a deeper problem in our nation? Could the desperation and despair that is being expressed through these events be the groaning of a nation that has succumbed to ungodly rule? Not a particular individual, but rather a government, which declares moral rights to that which is morally wrong? For more go to tonyperkins.com
